Honors Program Application

To be eligible to apply to the UNK Honors Program, you must first be admitted to UNK. If you have not been admitted to UNK, follow the necessary steps to do so and revisit this application.

All applications must be complete to receive full consideration and be reviewed by members of the Honors scholarship committee.

Academic Information

  1. A recommendation from a school official that includes your class rank or percentile in secondary school.
  2. A document showing any academic achievements or standardized test scores like the ACT or SAT.
  3. A single file that contains both 1 and 2 from above.

If you are in your first semester of college, you will not have a college transcript. Instead, submit a grade check form with your current grades for the first semester of college. You will need to download the form to edit it.

Provide a copy of your most recent high school transcript. A six-semester (three-year) transcript is accepted.

How to create an unofficial ACT report. Obtain your ACT score report from the ACT website in PDF format or provide a screenshot. Make sure your screenshot includes your full name.

Resume and Admittance Essay Question

Scholarship Essay Question
All Honors Program scholarship applications are due by December 1, 2025. The top 40 regional scholarship applicants will be notified by December 11, 2025 of their selection to participate in our on-campus scholarship day, which will be held on January 8, 2026.

Letter of Recommendation

Once this application is submitted, an email will be sent to the email address provided with instructions for completing your letter of recommendation. Make sure you prompt your recommender to watch for an email from admissions@unk.edu.
